Join us for an enriching afternoon dedicated to the wonders of fermented foods. This interactive workshop at Sessions@Pavilion, Chennai, promises an immersive experience into the art and science of fermentation followed by a tasting of fermented foods like cheese, kombucha, kimchi and a lot more!
About the Workshop
Discover the ancient preservation technique of fermentation, which has been used for thousands of years to create some of our favourite foods and beverages, including cheese, chocolate, wine, coffee, and preserved condiments. With a renewed focus on gut health, fermented foods are celebrated for their probiotic benefits. Navigating the path to include these in our daily life diet though is often riddled with questions - how much should I eat? how often? how is it best consumed? can I cook with it? This workshop aims to demystify these healthful foods and provide practical insights into incorporating them into your daily diet.

The space is owned and managed by Girika Mahajan, a pastry chef trained at the Institute of Culinary Education, New York. She has worked in professional kitchens across New York and Singapore. Inspired by her French pastry training, Indian heritage, and local Singaporean flavours, her creations blend tradition and innovation.

- Namrata Sundaresan: Co-founder of Käse, an award-winning cheese brand. With extensive experience and numerous certifications in cheesemaking, Namrata will guide you through the fascinating world of fermentation and cheese.
- Sonia Pradhan: Founder of Purple Brewery, is dedicated to creating healthy and tasty fermented beverages and condiments using time-tested techniques and the finest organic ingredients.
