Join us for an exciting culinary experience that pays homage to two beloved staples—bread and cheese! We aren’t just talking about pizza. Across cultures and continents, these two ingredients have been transformed into iconic pairings, from the buttery flakiness of empanadas to the chewy perfection of pão de queijo.

In 2023 we explored a pairing of cheese with different styles of bread in collaboration with Sapa Bakery. This time around, the tasting event will take you on a flavourful journey through five distinct bread and cheese pairings, each with a story, cultural significance, and, of course, a delicious bite.

About the Workshop

Breads and cheeses have been integral to food cultures worldwide—from the pillowy kulcha of India to the rich, cheesy Kachapuri of Georgia. This event is our interpretation of five classic bread-and-cheese pairings, bringing you unique flavors and textures in every bite.

Experience a Culinary Journey

  • Kalari Kulcha (India) – A fusion of Kashmiri Kalari cheese with North Indian kulcha
  • Pão de Queijo (Portugal) – The classic Brazilian-Portuguese cheese bread
  • Khachapuri (Georgia) – A decadent, boat-shaped bread oozing with cheese
  • Empanada (Mexico) – Flaky pastry filled with a delicious cheese surprise
  • Ensaymada (Philippines) – A sweet, cheesy finish to round off the experience

About the Venue

Sessions@Pavilion: Our venue partner, offers a versatile workshop and event space designed to inspire creativity and connection. The space is owned and managed by Girika Mahajan, a pastry chef trained at the Institute of Culinary Education, New York. 

Meet the Experts

Namrata Sundaresan: Co-founder of Käse, an award-winning cheese brand. With extensive experience and numerous certifications in cheesemaking, Namrata will guide you through the fascinating world of cheese.

Girika Mahajan: Owner of the venue, Sessions@Pavilion and Studio Mon Cherie, she has worked in professional kitchens across New York and Singapore. Inspired by her French pastry training, Indian heritage, and local Singaporean flavours, her creations blend tradition and innovation.
